The Long View by Vogue Business: The fashion CEO’s take on resale

Vogue Business - 06/08/22

In June, Isabel Marant launched a website dedicated to secondhand clothing powered by French startup Faume. Through Isabel Marant Vintage, the label is collecting pre-owned pieces from its own past collections that might otherwise end up at a local thrift shop or on an online resale platform. While the Isabel Marant Vintage boutique is online-only, customers can visit stores to sell back their pre-worn pieces in exchange for credit. The brand inspects each item rigorously: a wool jacket, accepted in “excellent” condition in exchange for a €189 in-store voucher, makes the cut. A blouse with a missing label does not.
